Our Story…Our Mission… We prayed and asked for prayer from everyone we knew. We struggled for guidance, unsure of what was wrong.
Our son, Craig, was diagnosed with autism at two and a half years old. The word autism was almost unknown to us. Imagine,
a word that would later consume everyday of our lives, a word we would never forget. Our sons diagnoses was autism, and his prognosis wasn’t good.
We were told he would probably not speak, play, potty train, to try not to medicate him as long as we could, and possibly
get ready for institutionalization. We didn’t believe that for a minute, we knew there had to be hope. We found that
hope in our faith and other parents that had gone before us. Now our son is four years old. He is a happy little boy that
goes to school, laughs and plays with his sister, talks so much we ask him to hush, has great conversation and eye contact
and is almost 100% potty trained. Pretty good huh? Well our mission is to help other families now. We are so grateful
for the recovery Craig is making, and we know its God’s plan for us to help others now. Autism can be devastating financially,
emotionally, spiritually and physically. Don’t let it win, we want to help. Through ASK, Autism Society of the Keys,
we will be able to have seminars, teaching parents what autism is, signs to look for, when to be concerned, who to see for
help. Get answers to those tough questions and find friends that can help. We will provide the latest resources, DVDs, books,
literature and conference information. We will seek grants and raise money to provide financial help for families seeking
proven therapies that are still unapproved by insurance companies for autism, including ABA, speech and occupational therapy,
as well as biomedical intervention. We will also build a support group of families here in the keys. We’re all in this
together. Through faith and hope, we can help our children live happier and more fulfilling lives. One in every hundred
and fifty children are diagnosed by autism. Lets get educated. Recovery is possible. There is hope, we can help. Craig
and Jill Campbell Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
