Whats New, Whats New, Whats New! There is a lot new and very exciting.  Check out the "Silent Auction" page. The community is really getting on board and helping out with all kinds of items to bid on from jewelry to seafood, from snorkel trips to glass bottom boat trips and even swimming with the dolphins.  If you are coming from out of town you won't want to miss this booth at the expo. Those of you with local businesses that would like to be apart of the auction, we'd love to have you. Give us a call at 451-1642 and be apart of something big.

Things are really going well behind the scenes. Volunteers and sponsors are signing up, medals have been ordered and t-shirts are going to print (thanks T-Toons). Participants are signing up from all over the U.S. Right now. Can you believe we actually have more "out of towner's" signed up than we do locals right now.  That does not surprise me though because last year we had over 100 locals sign up the day of the expo, which was excellent, don't get me wrong. That is just more money for the charities and thats a good thing.  But... This year I would say to the locals "SIGN UP EARLY" and save yourself some money.  I am just trying to help you all outLaughing

Now for the oh so interesting part of the blog, the stats. We have a couple more states signed up like Kansas, hey Jenny and Corey, and Maryland, along with South Carolina and New Jersey. We are now up to 14 different states and 4 different countries.

Total: 347  (75 more than we had last year at this time)

227 Females  and 120 Males (odds are looking good for the single men)

136 Half Marathon
65   10K
146 5K
001  Hand Cycle Division (more power to you Michael!)

Here is one more piece of interesting news. From the on line registrations report, I can tell you that people are coming and they are bringing friends and family with them and they are staying. The polls say that for every one participant two to three are coming with them and they are staying in Key Largo an average of 3 to 5 days.  Those are some encouraging numbers for such a slow time of year. I believe the race this year will be a big shot in the arm for the local economy.

Don't forget about the Spaghetti Dinner at Cafe Largo 11/12/10, Breakfast morning of the race with Eddie's Smokin BBQ  and the Post Race Celebration at Bayside Grille. Get the who, what, where and how much on the "Schedule of Events" page.  Tickets are now available for the Spaghetti Dinner and Post Race Celebration at Cafe Largo and Key Largo Baptist Church.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Expo.

We are all really working hard and are very excited about this event.  I am praying hard for the most perfect weather just like we had last year. If any of you should have any questions about anything feel free to send me an email at candy@keylargobridgerun.com.

Happy Training! (Go Kim -Clear Channel Radio!)Cool
